Nights
Nighttime adds a feel of mystery around these stations. I always expect to see Edward Hopper’s diner patrons rolling off the 8:30 express from Filmnoirtown. Sometimes you get more literal color at night, too, as lights shine on bricks, marble, or decorations, and other lights add their own colors.
Of course, with the commuters home, it’s more apparent who’s in the station but not going anywhere. I think of them, too.
